OUR METHOD
The language program accommodates students
at all levels of Italian, from beginner to specialized,
offering classes emphasizing on the four language skills:
listening, speaking, reading and writing. Lessons are structured
to combine traditional grammar study with dynamic
linguistic practice such as interactive conversation and role-playing
reproducing real-life situations. The aim of this method
is to teach students in a very short
time to speak and
to “think” Italian as well
as mastering the art of Italian Grammar.
During the grammar lessons teachers
progressively explain both verbally and illustrated on a
white board the form and the function of each grammar rule
in a precise and clear way.
During the conversation classes a wide variety of
subjects are covered. At the elementary level, lessons reproduce
basic communicative situations, such as asking for information,
placing an order in a restaurant, introducing oneself to
Italians and making a purchase in a shop. At the higher levels,
classes involve advanced discussions of various subjects,
such as the environment, culture, media and economy etc.
Particular importance is given to reading texts of various
genres - including newspapers, magazines and passages of
literature - and to listening exercises, watching Italian
films, and writing dialogues and compositions.
